Resilient SME Trade Finance
Small and medium-sized enterprises are central to regional trade but can face persistent working-capital constraints, information gaps, and fragmented cross-border processes.
Project premise
The project explores how data, risk models, partnerships, and digital workflows strengthen access to trade finance without weakening credit discipline. It focuses on where better information or ecosystem coordination can reduce friction for viable firms moving goods and services across Asian trade corridors.
Eolais incubation role
Eolais combines financial-services research, stakeholder analysis, and incubation to map the problem, compare models, and identify conditions under which new approaches are commercially credible. The work provides a practical framework for assessing propositions rather than presuming that more technology automatically produces greater inclusion.
