SharkSpotter Telemetry Network

Effective marine protection depends on knowing where species move, when they return, and how their behaviour intersects with protected waters and human activity.

Project premise

SharkSpotter explores a regional acoustic-telemetry and machine-assisted identification network for improving understanding of migratory shark species. The project considers sensor placement, data-sharing, observation protocols, and methods for turning movement data into useful conservation evidence.

Eolais incubation role

Eolais provides the incubation structure around research design, collaboration, data interpretation, and translation into conservation practice. The work establishes a repeatable model through which evidence informs stewardship, protected-area design, education, and regional cooperation rather than merely collecting more data.
